The Primary Training Institute is located at the opposite of the school. District Education Office, District Education Engineering Office, District Primary Education Office and the Municipal Water Tank is within the area of the school. The city Municipal office and House of District commissioner (DC) is situated at the west side and south side of the school respectively. The school playground is located adjacent to the main Municipal “Baramath’’ (Big field). There is also a playground inside the school compound. In 2008 the school made a grand celebration of its 125th date of foundation.〔(Nilphamari Govt High School reunion Dec 11 )〕 == Foundation == It was founded in 1882 as the English High School and in 1968 it was nationalized. Today’s Nilphamari Government High School was established by British Government in 1882. Then it was improved by local people. Local landlord Rebti Mohan Chowdhury and Tomij Uddin Chowdhury donated 13.23 acre of land to spread the light of education in Nilphamari. The school is now standing on the land donated by them. In 1914 the Old Red Building of the school was constructed.
